Make your banner art actual size (if possible). If your design program can not make a document as large as the banner size you want, be sure your art will scale-up proportionately (such as 25% size).
If your banner contains images, a file resolution to 150 dpi (or greater) is recommended. We suggest keeping all text, images and logos 1 inch off the edge. Do not include bleeds.
Preferred file type for printing: PDF file or a JPG. You can upload your art directly to the website using the File Uploader.
Feel free to give us a call if you have questions or need assistance.
Banner Installation Tip
Rather than using wire, rope or cords, we recommend using Bungee Cords to tie your banner. This will not only help keep your banner tight and taut, but will also give with the wind to help eliminate the danger of tearing of your banner. For very large banners used in open areas that may be in heavy winds we recommend using Mesh Banners to allow airflow through the material.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I set up the art for a banner with pole pockets?
Your submitted graphic should fit the dimensions of the print you ordered. There is no additional bleed required. There will be a hemline across the graphic, it will be 2", 3", or 4" from the edge of the graphic depending on what sized pole pocket you order.
Q: Do I need special Banner finishing?
If you are ordering a long-time use banner it is suggested to have the following additional finishing options added to your banner for best longevity:
• Webbing (see finishing options below for details)
• Reinforced Corners (see finishing options below for details)
• In addition to the finishing options it is suggested all grommets to be used upon installation.
Q: What additional finishing options do you offer for banners?
We offer 9 optional finishings for your needs:
• Hem (free) Hemmed edges reinforce the sides of vinyl banners. Hemming involves folding the edges of the banner over and then sewing the material. We use double-hemming, the most effective finishing method for outdoor banners to maintain the banner’s shape and prevent stretching. Traditional sewn hemmed edges are included at no additional cost on all banners.
• Grommet (free) Grommets are the most common method of hanging a banner. Fastened into the hem, the gromments distribute the weight of the banner evenly and keeps the banner from sagging. Typically, grommets should be placed every 2-3 feet along the edges of the banner. By default we place them every 2 feet. Custom gromments available for a small additional charge.
• Pole pocket Finishing a banner with pole pockets provides a space for rigid poles to be inserted into the banner. The pole pockets are sewn on the edges of the banner, allowing for even distribution of the banner’s weight to prevent sagging. Using pole pockets on both ends will make the banner more rigid, hanging more flat and taut.
• Windslit Although we will add wind slits to your banner buy request, they are not recommended. Wind slits will reduce the strength of the banner. If your banner is large, and you intend to hang it in a potentially windy environment, we instead recommend you order a mesh banner, as they allow for more air flow thru the banner without large holes.
• Webbing
Reinforced webbing is a cross-stitched nylon strip that is sewn inside of the hem. Webbing is recommended on very large banners for maximum strength and durability. When webbing is used, the grommets will penetrate through 2 layers of vinyl as well as the webbing, greatly reducing
the risk of the grommets tearing out in wind or from the sheer weight of the banner.
• D-ring D-Rings are sewn to nylon webbing are typically sewn ito large banners theat will hang on a building. The D-rings allow the banner to be secured with ratched straps. D-rings in the banner help to ensure that in extreme weather the entire banner moves and the corners do not take all the stress.
• Reinforced corner Reinforced corners are reinforced with webbing to increase the strength of the the weakest points of the banner: corners. The material is cut into a triangle and added to each of the corners of the banner on the backside. The corners provide extra strength for the banner.
• Rope Installing your banners will be an easy task that any person can do quickly. The best way to hang a Banner is by securing them with either rope or bungee cords by passing the rope or bungees through the grommets and securely attaching them to your surface area.
The choice of rope or bungees depends on the weather conditions where your banner is hanging. In windy conditions, which could cause your banner to stretch, bungee cords are the preferred choice for installing your banners as they will stretch in heavy winds to help ensure your banners do not tear. If you are hanging your banners in an indoor setting where wind is not a concern, rope can be a good choice due to its strength yet cost effectiveness.
• Velcro Velcro added to our fabric banners allows for quickly install and remove graphic images. 1″ optional Velcro include both loop and hook and 2″ optional Velcro include loop only.
Q: What do you recommend on fabric banner cleaning and wash setting?
Fabric banners can be machine washed with cold water and gentle cycle. Lay flat or hang to dry. Wrinkles or creases can be eliminate with hand steamer. Do NOT bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
